Morning trip to Bolivar Flats Shorebird Refuge

This trip was originally suggested as a Pop-up or small independent trip by me, a club member. But due to a lot of interest, I am making it a full blown club trip for anyone who is interested. Bolivar Flats is the tidal zone where a lot of shorebirds roost each night and feed during the daytime. It is just east of the ferry terminal at Bolivar and east of the North Jetty.

Our goal is to meet at the parking lot of Kingwood First Baptist Church where we hold monthly meetings and leave by 6:15 in the morning. Why so early??? Well we want to get to Bolivar for low tide which is the best time for walking and taking pictures in the tidal zone.

We will figure out car pooling on Tuesday morning. Please plan to bring lunch or other snacks, no where to really stop to eat…
