Painted Churches Photo Tour, Schulenburg Texas

When: May 14th, 6:30 am to 4 pm

Where: We will leave Kingwood First Baptist, the C of C is at 618 Main St. Schulenburg

Cost: $25 per person plus a split fee for the tour guide and gas and your lunch

We have tentatively booked a tour with the folks at the Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce to tour the Painted Churches in and around the area there.

Still working out a few details but the cost per person for visiting 4-6 churches is $25 per person. You will need to pay that on the morning of the tour when we meet at their office in town. The funds collected go partly to the Chamber of Commerce but the bulk goes to the churches for upkeep of their properties. There is an additional "Guide Fee" that we will pay our guide, $60-$75 depending on group size. The day of the tours we will know our head count and we can just divide the guide fee by our number of attendees to cover the amount. Typically if the guide is good you are free to tip as you see fit, they are all local volunteers. We also suggest those car pooling contribute towards the cost of gas for a long trip like this.

It is around 2 hours to drive to and from Schulenburg so we will need to leave pretty early to be there by 9am. We will get lunch after the event and upon a good recommendation we most likely will dine at The Garden Company Marketplace & Cafe and they sell plants and garden supplies if you can't resist buying more!
