We need a few volunteers to be Santa's Elves in December.
Each year in December our club does two photo shoots for the upcoming holiday season. We wanted to see if we can get a few new volunteers to help out as Santa's Elves and also as be photography assistants. Typically our Elves help with setting up the rooms we use for pictures and aid in directing children and adults to Santa and then as they depart form our photo shoot area. We typically need 3 to 4 elf helpers and they can volunteer for one or both photo shoots. If we have enough volunteers it might not be necessary to stay the entire time of the photo shoot.
The first event is the photo shoot for Woodspring Forest HOA where Santa will greet children from that neighborhood at their community center. The date is Sunday, December 6th and usually runs from 3 - 5 pm or so. Here we are mostly working with young children, some will be excited and some will be a bit apprehensive but over all it is a fun photo shoot.
The second photo shoot is on Saturday, December 19th from roughly 5 - 7:30 pm. This one is at The Village Center on Northpark Drive near Woodland Hills. There mission is to enhance the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and to support them in reaching their full potential. Every December they have a party with food and refreshments as well as dancing and holiday themed games. We provide memorable pictures of them with Santa.
Both are fun to help out at, you get to see the excitement in a child or special adult's eyes when they see Santa and tell him what's on their wish list. While we have a core group who has helped in the past, we hope to get a few new volunteers which helps if others are sick or out of town and can't make it.
We are having an orientation meeting for our volunteers on Saturday, December 5th at 3pm at the Starbucks at 2515 Green Oak Drive at Kingwood Drive to go over what is needed and how it will all work during the photo shoots. The meeting won't take long, maybe an hour.
Let me know if you are interested in helping and which event by email at Chris@ChrisSummers.net
