October Share & Learn is Shadows and Light

This month, challenge yourself to see the world in a new way by exploring the creative interplay between light and darkness. Look for dramatic shadows cast by trees, buildings, or people; capture silhouettes against a bright sky; or experiment with window light, reflections, and shafts of sunlight breaking through the clouds. Light filtering through leaves, patterns on a wall, or a single beam illuminating a dark scene can turn an ordinary subject into something extraordinary.

We encourage every club member to grab a camera, get out there, and actively seek out opportunities to photograph this theme! Experiment with different times of day, angles, and lighting conditions. Think beyond simply recording what you see—use light and shadow to create mood, mystery, contrast, and visual storytelling. You might be surprised by what you discover when you start looking for the light!
